To believe or not to believe

Most of the people do not wish to believe in Astrology. They try to poah-fah it and call it rubbish and supersition. Their main argument against Astrology is that so many people are born at the smae time all over the world so they would have the same fate, Why is it not so?The question is logical.
Let us examine the facts of this question. The foremost is how correct is this question. How many children are really born at the same time world wide. And the second question is why these people born at the same time do not have the same profession/education etc.

As per  Unicef estimates there are 255 births per minute globally. And 34 births every minute in India. So as per law of probabilty the chance of two births at the same time and at  same place is NIL.
Even twins cannot be born at the same time. Ask any doctor, who will tell that at least there will be a gap of four minutes between the birth of twins and that will change many of the astrology charts (even if the birth chart remains same. This is the main reason why twins may look alike, may have similar habits  but their life paths maybe different.)

Well, even if children/people are born at the same time, around the world they will not be ASTROLOGICALLY similiar. Astrologically similair implies tohave the same birth chart and thus the other various charts such as the Navamsha Chart, Hora chart etc which are used for Astrology readings. Coming back to the question why the birth charts are not the same.  This is because the latitutdes and longitude degrees of a birth place effect the planets and their placement which form the birth chart. We all know that there are different time zones around the world and even if we makeprovision for the difference in the time zones the places will not have same planet placements.

We all see the Sun and the Moon and even they are not similairly placed world wide,  Elaboration further, for a person born in India at a particular time the Sun is placed in Aries but at the same time for another person born in USA the Sun cannot be in Aries for the simple reason that both the locations have diferent latitudes and longitudes. This is the main reason that the birth charts are made with the Time and Place of birth. Even within the same country latitudes and longitudes vary. India spreads across  almost 8 to 37 degrees north latitude and almost 68 to 97 longitude. Thus the person born at same time within India will not have the same birth chart and thus will not have same destiny or even the same life path.

Astrology has been termed supersition and myth and never treated as a science whereas it is a most logical stream of study. It involves lot of calculations and facts. Every person and even a class I student  knows that the Sun rises very early in Assam as compared to Delhi and same is true of Sunset. So if the Sun positions are different in the two regions at the same time then the position of  all the other planets should also be different and since planets and their positions make a birth chart it is bound to be different.

It is very easy to discredit a system of study without knowing the facts. We first need to understand the system or a method. A science or a system which has been carried forward over centuries cannot be all rubbish. Our great Astrologers have repeatedly emphasised that Astrology is a science(indeed a difficult science to understand as it has many calculations ).It is no doubt  that it has been misused by the so called fortune tellers who are around to make quick  money. Astrology is a pure science .It holds secrets of future and fate. It is a map of our fate and destiny.

Should you be scared of Shani ?

Shani - the minute the astrologer says this word it seems to spell bad times as well as hard and difficult times. And on this day of Shani
temples all over are thronged by crowds of people who are trying to appease Lord Shani and get respite. It seems Shani is One of the most feared as well as revered planets. The mighty Shani, has been given a very important place in Astrology. This slow moving task-master, the strict disciplinarian i.e. Shani Bhagwan or the Lord Shani is considered to be the greatest obstacle creator. He has the power to move the mountains, and He has the power to make the toughest of the people cringe and cower under his disciplinarian ways.

Astrologically and methodologically, Shani has been associated with the day of Saturday. In fact, in English Saturday derives its name from Saturn, the devil.

As per both popular systems of Astrology, the planet of Shani represents discipline, stability, delay, obstruction, limitation, consolidation, justice, responsibility, maturity, amongst various other aspects. He is the ruler of the tenth and eleventh Zodiac signs- Capricorn and Aquarius respectively.

As per the principles of Vedic Astrology  ill-placed Shani in one’s Horoscope, especially when in a difficult aspect with another planet, can wreak havoc in one’s life. It leads to never-ending struggles and obstacles in one’s life.

Another problem period is Sade Sati . As the name says Sade that is half and Sati that is seven thus it is a period of seven and half years of Shani—a planetary movement of great importance as per the Vedic system of Astrology.

People are quite scared of this phenomenon called Shani Sade Sati. It is considered to be a period of roadblocks and extreme life lessons. It takes place when the transiting Shani begins to move through a Sign before one’s Moon Sign, in the Horoscope (created as per the Vedic system of Astrology). Shani typically takes 2.5 years to complete its journey through one Sign. So, while Shani transits through the Signs adjoining (before and after) one’s Moon Sign and the Moon Sign (in between) itself, it spends 2.5 years in each Sign—hence the total of 7.5 years. One of the best living example of person facing Sade Sati is Dr. Man Mohan Singh, ex-prime minister of India. He faced so many political problems as well as character assassination.

Shani also poses problems on a general level, while it continues its transits through various Zodiac Signs, and especially so if it happens to be in an enemy Sign or the enemy house.

As of 29th May 2015, the transiting Shani is moving in a retrograde motion, which it shall continue to be in till August 2, 2015. Shani is currently transiting through the Zodiac Sign Scorpio, which is ruled by the planet Mars. Astrologically, Shani and Mars are not friendly with each other, and hence, Shani is known to be uncomfortable in this transit.

Currently, owing to this transit and Shani also being in a retrograde motion—things may seem very difficult and exhausting on a broader level. Feelings of frustration, sorrow, depression may be experienced by the people all across, in general. There may be a plenty of obstructions and delays in various projects, tasks etc. People suffering from some health issues and illnesses will need to be very cautious and should pay immediate medical attention, if things deteriorate. Things cannot be taken lightly, during such a transit.

However, does this imply that Shani only represents negative things? Should we always be only scared of him?

Certainly No! If a person works hard, follows a disciplined lifestyle, does good Karma, behaves responsibly and shows compassion to the poor or the less-fortunate, he/she surely is bound to attain the magnificent blessings of Shani! Remember, Shani gives long-lasting and permanent results, but they come at a price—of hard work, sincere efforts and a true heart. His task is to make you more refined and well-rounded in personality. He is the Cosmic teacher, who imparts the important lessons about life. Even during a Shani Sade Sati (7.5 years), if a person stays sincerely onto the path of true service and discipline, the person is known to gain vastly in terms of wisdom, prudence, power and position.

There are some simple task that one can do to appease the tough taskmaster Shani, in general –

1) Worship Lord Hanuman, and recite the Hanuman Chalisa, at least on Saturdays, if not possible to do it every day.
2) Donate some food items or clothes to the poor and needy.
3) Be kind and helpful to old people and the elderly.
4) Be compassionate towards people of lower ranks in the society, including your servants.
4) Offer mustard oil and black sesame seeds (til) or black lentil seeds (urad) in a nearby Hanuman temple or Shani temple.
5)Avoid sleeping on the floor
6)Do not shave on Saturday

May Lord Shani bless us with kindness and compassion.
Please feel free to ask if you have any doubts or problems.

You can benefit from the dark night--Amavasya

Amavasya
Amavasya is the darkest night and is usually associated with evil, spirits and Ghosts. There are so many superstitions about this night. It is believed that all black magic takes place on Amavasya and that the black magic is more effective when performed on Amavasya . People are so afraid of this night and the Indian cinema has strengthened all these beliefs.
Why should this be so evil when it is actually the night of new moon? Just because there is no moon the night becomes evil. Darkness and evil seem to be synonymous. Perhaps the reason is that the moon effects are the most emotionally and psychologically. The tide effects caused by the moon are well known as well as the mood swings of people with the rising and waning of the moon.
But it does not end here. It is believed that Amavasya or new Moon day is very favorable to conduct Pitra Shanti Puja, if one has Pitra Dosha in their Kundli. The Pitra Shanti Puja is done to satisfy the souls of the dead ancestors. Death again is associated with negativity, as it is loss of some one. It is also said that one who observes fast on Amavasya, overcomes all the worldly fears and gets relief from all the sins committed.
Yet the most important Hindu festival Diwali is celebrated on Amavasya. In addition to celebration of Diwali there are many legends and beliefs about Amavasya in different months. It is interesting to note that all these indicate benefits and good happenings during the Amavasya.
Amavasya Puja & Vrat
To begin with the Puja and other rituals people clean their house and decorate it with colorful Rangoli and Diyas (earthen lamps). After doing all these activities, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped for wealth and fortune. It is believed that making donations on new Moon day is very fruitful.
It is believed that observing Amavasya Vrat pacifies the soul of dead ancestors. Single meal is taken throughout the day and that too only after the sunset. Negative or wrong thoughts are strictly avoided.
Amavasya Payovrata
This Vrat is observed for Lord Vishnu and has to be kept for one year, if started. This Amavasya Vrat helps in overcoming mental stress and improves the financial condition of the person
Importance Of Amavasya Vrat
Observing Amavasya Vrat is important. This way we can please our ancestors and satisfy their dead souls. As the day is dedicated to all the dead ancestors of the family, keeping Amavasya fast is helpful in appeasing all of them and getting their eternal blessings. If you are depressed due to lack of prosperity & harmony in your family, observing Amavasya Vrat, it will definitely help.
Amavasya Pitra Shanti Puja
The day of Amavasya is considered very auspicious to perform Pitra Shanti Puja. Conducting this Puja helps in pacifying the dead souls of one’s ancestors. As per beliefs, people with Pitra Dosha in their Kundli should offer Kheer (sweet rice porridge) to their ancestors. Observing Amavasya Vrat helps in reducing the influence of Pitra Dosha and bestows the observer with health, wealth, and good luck.
We hope that with this article, all fears about Amavasya would end and you can perhaps welcome goodness & bliss in your life while observing Amavasya.

Margashirsha Amavasya
Given below are the various Amavasya that are celebrated all around our country with great enthusiasm and devotion:
Magha/Mauni Amavasya
According to the Hindu calendar , Magha Amavasya falls in Magha Masa and as per the Gregorian calendar, it is observed around the month of February. The importance of Mauni Amavasya comes from the fact that performing Shraddh of the forefathers on this day, yields fruitful results. As per the rituals, on new Moon day, people offer Pinda Daan and perform Pitru Tarpan. Devotees from all around the country visit Prayag Sangam (Allahabad) to perform the Shraddh rituals. Another important aspect of this day is observance of Maun Vrat (silent fast), which is kept to fetch blessings of the gods. According to the legends, on new Moon day, Lord Brahma created queen Shatarupa and Maharaja Manu. The auspiciousness of this day increases if it falls on a Monday.
Bheemana Amavasya
On Bheemana Amavasya, women and girls pray for the well being and happiness of their husbands and brothers. Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are the deities of this day.
Hariyali Amavasya
Hariyali Amavasya is celebrated in North India in the month of Shravan. Lord Shiva is worshiped on this day for prosperity and wealth. Devotees thank the deity for a good and prosperous agricultural season, as well. People of Udaipur celebrate this day with zeal and energy for a continuous period of three days.
Bhado Amavasya
Bhado Amavasya is dedicated to Narayani Bai who became Sati on this day. To honor her, devotees visit Rani Sati Dadi Temple on this day and seek her blessings. On the day of Bhado Amavasya, a big fair is held in Rajasthan to honor Rani Sati Dadi.
Legend Associated With Bhado Amavasya
According to the legend, when Abhimanyu got killed in the battle of Mahabharata, his wife also wished for death. But, as she was expecting Abhimanyu's child, Lord Krishna stopped her from sacrificing her life. He granted her the boon that in her next birth, she will again become Abhimanyu's wife. As a result, she was born as Narayani Devi in her next birth and Abhimanyu was born as Tandhan Das. As per the boon given, they both married. However, soon after, Tandhan Das passed away. After this incident, Narayani Bai got Sati and came to be recognized as Rani Sati Dadi Ji. Since then, every year rituals are carried out on the day of Bhado Amavasya.
Aati Amavasya
Aati Amavasya is celebrated in South India. According to beliefs, offerings made on this day reach directly to the forefathers and in return they shower their blessings.
Somvati Amavasya
Somvati Amavasya 2015 dates are May 18 and October 12. Somvati Amavasya is observed by the married women. It is said that keeping fast on this day, safeguards them from the danger of widowhood. Also, the fast blesses them with a child.
Legend Associated With Somvati Amavasya
As per the legends of Somvati Amavasya, once there was a money lender. He had seven sons and one daughter. All his sons got married happily, but his daughter remained unmarried. Even after trying hard, the money lender was not able to find a suitable groom for his daughter. The money lender had a very good friend who was a Pandit. He used to visit the money lender everyday and bless his daughter-in-laws. This used to worry the daughter of the money lender, as the Pandit never blessed her. She told about this to her mother, who then asked the Pandit for the reason behind the act. On being questioned, he politely replied that her daughter has a bad fortune and may even become a widow. To help the girl, the Pandit told her to meet a washerwoman who used to live on an island named, Singhal. He further said that her bad luck would transform in good luck, if that washerwoman puts Sindoor (vermilion) on her forehead. With a hope of changing her fate, the girl went to meet the washerwoman. Her service and loyalty impressed the lady and she happily applied Sindoor on her forehead. As a result, her fate changed and she got married to a suitable boy.

I hope this clears the negativity that surrounds the Amavasya and be not afraid of the new moon night.

Yes I can change my destiny

Here, I would like to quote from Lt. Shree K.S. Krishanmurthy, the founder of KP Paddhati, from his book KP Reader-II.
Page 54
"God will always be alert and giving such wonderful guidance to the astrologer to predict correctly, if those who consult him would have satisfactorily done virtuous deeds in the previous birth. Only those who had committed serious sins in the last birth will be disappointed in this birth in every walk of life. Even able astrologers will have misguiding facts, which they have to use as the basis, so that their calculation will go wrong and their prediction will fail. Probably the chart given to the astrologer may be casted by a quack and may be incorrect. Or the unluckiest querist would have mentioned 16. The astrologer would have misheard it as 60, worked and offered a prediction which failed finally. Mishearing is God`s action, which is due to  the questioner's Karma. Thus, in everything, the divine force will work. God neither gives proper guidance to him nor allows the astrologer to give correct prediction in his case alone, as he was a great sinner and he has to be disappointed in everything, including the prediction of the expert astrologers."
"One can consult any astrologer. Only when the native and the astrologer have favorable time, the astrologer will be able to give correct prediction to him. But, if their time is unfavorable, everything will go wrong and the party cannot have peace of mind. Good actions alone will yield desirable results. Thus, astrology reminds one to do good alone, which will surely offer peace of mind.
This is FATE.
Many a times people complain to me that I have delayed their readings and instead have given the reading for others before them. Today while reading the above quoted para I understand my own dilemma. I am able to provide some readings so readily and quickly because of fate.
Yes it is true that sometimes some feeling/power overtakes to do a reading. In such cases I am helpless and I need to do the reading for that person. May be this is God’s way of letting me help someone who needs help.
WE all know that almost all people get the horoscopes matched for marriages and yet marriages fail. Everyone conducts marriage in the most auspicious time and Lagna yet the marriages do not work out.
Why? Perhaps again it is destiny. Thus the most important question is Can we change Destiny.
Yes or NO.
Yes we can change our destiny.
Remember friends that God did write everything but in many places he has also written as you wish, as you want, as you do. So we do have leverage and control on our lives. Good wishes, thoughts and actions are therefore necessary. And SEWA can elevate many of the sufferings where everything else fails.
SEWA is the serve or help we can offer to others. SEWA  is usually provided to people  who are suffering similar problems as us but their problems are more acute than our own. It is not easy task, because the problems we have are serious and difficult and sometimes life wrecking too. But when you meet people who have problems similar to us it helps us to see our problems in details. Understanding others difficulties we reflect on our own difficulties and realize what is wrong and what can be done or should not be done. SEWA is like a mirror of our own problems, that is why SEWA is a great successful remedy

Saturn Transits to Scorpio. How it effects you ?

Today Saturn,  the most dreaded planet has entered Scorpio. Scorpio is ruled by Mars. Mars is neutral toward anti-movement Saturn
Saturn experiences the aggressive, invasive rashi of Mars a hostile environment Generally, there is a good deal of frustration and delay in this placement due to the counter-active sabotage of aggressive Mars and dispersing Ketu(Co Lord of Scorpio) which combine to cripple the structuring, lawful, carefully time-oriented works of Saturn.
Saturn is the agent of "no-change", conformity, uniformity, non-movement, non-innovation, freeze-up, seize-up, stop. Saturn's rashi shows the environment that He must be situated within, yet He must always resist. Saturn's rashi shows the difficult environment with its features and actors, who create the venue in which Saturn expresses fear, anxiety, and punishment, along with stepwise earning of the privilege to advance in hierarchies and imposition of lawful social order.
In Scorpio, Saturn says "no" to the mysterious, invasive, penetrating, sometimes sneaky, unexpected, disastrous, implosive, catastrophic, emergent, surgical, transformative characteristics of Scorpio. Although Saturn cannot prevent the existence of Scorpio's hidden agitations, its sexual mysteries, or its ability to discover hidden assets, Saturn can prevent these behaviors from moving forward.
Saturn fears invasive movements in Scorpio. Saturn resists penetration. Saturn resists sudden transformations, new identities emerging after catastrophic change. He hates the irregular, the unanticipated, the instinctual, and the sudden - yet these are precisely the actions of Scorpio.
Saturn does His best to deny, withhold, constrain, and restrain action but in Scorpio the rashi of active, competitive, aggressive Mars, lord Saturn feels intimidated and always under attack by a younger, bloodthirsty avenger. Therefore Saturn becomes quite weak in Scorpio. Psychologically, Shanaicarya is always on the defensive. He fears that people are trying to penetrate His inner core, get into His inner sanctum, crowd Him, invade Him, drill into Him. And living in this state of fear wears Saturn down.
Saturn changes its position after every two and half years. Saturn has arrived in Libra after being in Virgo since November 2011. During the transit period, Saturn had underwent retrograde and entered Virgo. After this, it was directed into Libra. If we talk of its present position, it is in Libra and will be in the same position till November 2, 2014.

Help, I am cursed!

My Nakshatra is  Aslesa. When I searched about this Nakshatra most of the articles mentioned overwhelmingly negative things about it. I feel cursed.
If my this life is cursed, there is seemingly nothing I can do about this misery.
Please help me . If I cannot help myself then at least I can avoid harming others.

In truth, you are not cursed at all. The idea of a curse is superstitious . The idea of a lifetime curse grants ultimate power to some entity (fate) which stands above (super) the self. I have no patience with superstition and as an educated person I hope that you also eschew this disempowering delusion.
Aslesa belongs to the group of six nakshatra called "Moola" (Azwini, Aslesa, Magha, Jyestha, Mula, and Revati).
Of these six, Aslesa is called the "Sarpa Nakshatra".
Traditionally, birth in Aslesa "the leash" is considered inauspicious due to implications of binding, involuntary holding, snakes, unsavory attachments, and entrapment. Therefore certain rituals are performed 27 days after the birth to eradicate these.
Aslesa is a karmically inherited set of subconscious emotional expectations and partly conscious behaviors. Due to the profundity of its unmet need for holding, soothing embrace (which is a carry-over from previous lives) Aslesa begins life in a state of extreme childhood neediness and develops manipulative skills to attempt to get the physical-emotional needs met.
Unfortunately in the process, Aslesa the Naga may become self-obsessed, "pining for entwining" so that a major portion of the life force may be directed into the behaviors of manipulation, cajoling, and surreptitious quest for embrace.
Aslesa at birth indicates a fixed starting point for the incarnation. However as the native develops a more conscious awareness of the nature of the unmet need and of one's own characteristic but often unsuccessful style of trying to fulfill the need. consciousness gains power and authentic changes in both understanding and behavior may easily be accomplished.
Once the Aslesa"leash" syndrome is brought into sharp and realistic focus, healthy ways of engaging in therapeutic touch can be developed such as healing massage, or working with needy children, or other non-predatory touch modalities.
Every nakshatra indicates the emotional starting point for the incarnation. Permission to move past the starting point into greater emotional health is granted by no outside power. Permission to heal is granted by the self, to the self. In reality, there is no power outside of oneself. The karmic "curse" is largely resolved at the moment of granting  oneself Permission to Heal.
You were born in Aslessa, for a specific and intended spiritual reason, according to the agenda set by your spirit. That is true, you chose Aslesaas a defining start point. Now the question is whether you are willing to grant yourself permission to heal. However freedom requires a conscious decision to move forward. The decision is yours. No one else, no external object, controls the power to seek conscious healing. It can be done Only by you.
The people who talk about curses are themselves victims of the 'spell' of ignorance. All features of the Jyotisha nativity are starting points only. Of course, most people are sleep-walking through their incarnations, caught in a dream-state of vague and shifting desires. These people remain lashed to their starting points. For them, there has been no change since the moment they  were born on this earth.
If you are ready to step out of the dream into a realistic view of Self, the healing change can begin.

Remedies for pacification of Gandmool

CONCEPT

The “Ganda “ means “Knot” and the “anta” means “end”. The Zodiac or the path of moon is divided into 12 raashis or int 27 nakshatras. This results in three junction  in the zodiac .
Aries is first sign. Starting from that the sequence is as follows-
Aries,Leo,Sagittarius- (Firey nature)
Taurus,Virgo,Capricorn-(Earthy nature)
Gemini,Libra,Acquarius-(Airy nature)
Cancer,Scorpio,Pisces-(Watery nature)
We all know that fire and water are immical. The border between Aries-Pisces,Cancer-Leo and Scorpio-Saggitarius act like danger mark or in otherway it is like a “knot” or “point of junction”. That is why when moon is about to cross the dividing line there or has just crossed it, then it is considered as a warning signal. It is believed that a person born under this situation suffers numerous miseries in life. Since each raashi can be sub divided into nakshatras, so the nakshatras falling at the beginning of Aries/Leo/Saggitarius i.e. Aswini, Magha and Moola and the nakshatras falling at the end of Cancer/Scorpio/Pisces i.e. Ashlesha, Jyeshtha and Revati can be trouble causing. But this rule is too general and the pandits make full use of it as a weapon to terrorise the parents of a new born. Since the nakshatra can be further subdivided into 4 padas therefore 4th pada of Revati, Ashlesha, Jyestha and the 1st pada of Ashwini, Magha and Moola should be put into scanner. The first three Ghatis(1 ghati=24 mints) of Ashwini, magha & moola nakshatras and the last five Ghatis before the end of the ashlesha, jyeshtha & revati are important.

Important View points

1.First if birth is in the daytime, it is called Pitri (father) Gandanta while a birth during night is called Matri (mother) Gandanta.
2. The second view is if birth in Revati – Aswini junction it is called Swa (self) –Gandanta, if birth in Ashlesha – Magha junction it is called Matri (mother) Gandanta and if birth in Jyestha – Moola junction it is called Pitri (father) Gandanta.
3. Consideration of Moola-Nivasa (Residence of Moola)
a) In months of Margasirsa, Phalgun, Vaisakha and Jyestha the residence of Moola is in “Patala Loka”
b) In Sravana, Kartika, Chaitra and Pausa the residence of Moola is in Martyu Loka
c) In months of Ashada, Aswina, Bhadra and Magha, the residence of Moola is in Swarga Loka
If birth is in Gandanta and the residence of Moola is in the Martyu Loka then great evil is indicated. The evil is lesser for the other Loka. Also Movable, Fixed and Dual signs as the (Lagna) are said to give Moola residence of Swarga, Patala and Martyu loka respectively.
4. The number of the Janma Nakshtra is multiplied by three (3). The numbers of birth tithi is recknoed from Sukla Paksha prati pada and the day of birth (as reckoned from Sunday) are added and the sum is divided by eight (8). The remainder indicates the Ganda Dosh .The table below illustrates the effects of the six Nakshtras in each of the four parts(padas).

As per traditions various remedies and rituals need to be performed in case of Gandmool dosha. But the above negative effects will accrue only when other supporting yogas are present in the chart. For example birth on Abhijit muhurat counters the evil effects as per Sage Vashistha. Also, moon in own vargas and aspected by benefics can ward off the ill effects. So, no need to fear when remedies are here!!!

·         Pacification of Gandmool

·         A Shanti puja should be performed on the 27th day from birth if a child is born in Gandmool Nakshatra.
·         If you are unable to perform this puja on the 27th day, then it should be performed on the day when Moon comes back to the same Nakshatra.
·         You should worship the lord of your birth Nakshatra. This will always benefit you. If you are born in Ashwini, Magha or Mool Nakshatra, you should worship lord Ganesha regularly. People born in these Nakshatras should donate brown clothes or cat’s eye gemstone on a Thursday or Wednesday. Hoisting a flag in a temple is also beneficial.
·         You should worship Mercury if you are born in Ashlesha, Jyeshtha or Rewati Nakshatra. People born in these Nakshatras should donate things like green vegetables, coriander, emerald, bronze utensils or amla. These things should be donated on Wednesday.
But no remedy should be adopted without consultation with an astrologer. Please feel free to send in your queries.
